Carleton R. Kemph
Partner
Carleton Kemph has an extensive business and counseling background, with a concentration in real estate. He has broad experience representing business organizations generally, including public and private developers, general contractors and construction managers, real estate-based investors and lenders, and related professionals. He has represented clients in all aspects of land and building acquisitions, swaps and dispositions, land use applications and approvals, financing, construction lease-up and ongoing management and operation, including retail, office, industrial, residential and mixed use projects. In particular, his practice focuses on innovative planning and techniques.
Carleton has lectured and published widely on such topics as commercial leasing, business finance, and joint ventures by financial institutions. He is the author of a highly sophisticated collaborative Real Estate Development Desk Book for owners, developers, operators, lenders, and governmental boards and agencies.
Carleton is a 1975 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in political science. He received a law degree from Rutgers University School of Law and an M.B.A. in finance from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.
He has held memberships in the National Association of Home builders, the New Jersey Builders Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks. He is also a member of the American, New Jersey State, and Essex County Bar Associations.
